At a highly engaging and productive event organized by the Association of Innovative Applications Enterprises of Greece (SEKEE), VK PREMIUM had the honor of presenting the emerging growth prospects within the defense sector.
During his address, Mr. C. Vamvakas, CEO of VK PREMIUM, emphasized the importance of strategic readiness for companies seeking to enter or expand their presence in the defense industry.
“Organizations aiming to engage in the defense sector must ensure proper preparation — including internal assessment, market analysis, and strategic planning — to design an effective implementation roadmap covering development, financing, and networking,” stated Mr. Vamvakas.
He further noted that businesses should proactively adjust their long-term strategies, as the forthcoming European Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for 2028–2034, currently under discussion, is expected to allocate five times more funding for defense compared to the previous period.
Representatives from the Hellenic Center for Defence Innovation (HCDI) also highlighted several key insights during the event:
- Global defense developments and rising expenditure are creating significant opportunities for dual-use technology development.
- Over 17 projects are already scheduled for implementation by 2025.
- Depending on the nature and Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of each investment, HCDI can support financing in collaboration with venture capital funds and banking institutions, or even co-invest under specific conditions.
